Itinerary Details

Day / Step Time Slot Activity
Day-1/Step-1 7.00 AM to 8.00 AM Travel towards Avani Betta - Breakfast near Hoskote
Now though this is a one day trip from Bangalore, the distance is around 100 kms and will take some time to reach.
Including breakfast on the way. Total time to Avani Betta will be around 3 hours. So it is advisable to start a bit early. Start be 7.00 AM is possible.
With in one hour, you will touch Hoskote. As suggested please take NH75 only. This is the best route.

There are a lot of resturants on the highway near Hoskote. Once you cross Hoskote you will find many options.

Day-1/Step-2 8.30 AM to 9.00 AM Stop for Breakfast
Take some 30 mins to have your breakfast. If you need more time, adjust the further plan accordingly.

At Avani Betta, the 10th century temples are at the bottom of the hill in Avani village and then to go to Sita mata temple you have to climb the hill.
So you have to plan well. You need to visit temple and then climb the hill to visit Sita Mata temple. The climb will take around 1 hour and hence suggestion is to reach early

The parking in front of temple is limited and hence reaching early helps. But as such you can park anywhere near the temple, it just that you need to walk a little then.

Another point to note is that, during noon it becomes hot and hence climb becomes a bit difficult. So please do keep a not of all this.

Day-1/Step-3 9.00 AM to 11.00 AM Reach Avani temple
Reach the temple premises. The temples are open throughout the day and hence my suggestion is to complete the trek first and visit Sita Mata temple and then visit the 10th century Shri Ramalingeshwara temple once you are back from trek.

And the reason for this is that it becomes hot as day progresses.

Day-1/Step-4 11.00 AM to 12.30PM Trek to Sita mata temple
So the trek is not difficult. but long. There are around 700 well marked steps. Rest are all muddy trail. Dependin on your pace you may take 1 to 1.5 hours to reach at the top.
Day-1/Step-5 12.30 PM to 1.30 PM Visit Sita Mata temple and spend some time at the top of the hill
Visit Sita Mata temple. It is said that Sage Valmiki lived here and Luv-Kush were born at this place and hence this place is religiously very important from Ramayana times. It is said that the war between Sri Ram and Luv Kush happened here. Now this is debatable. But nevertheless it is a very beautiful temple.

The view from top is amazing and you will enjoy some very good time there.

Day-1/Step-6 1.30 PM to 2.30 PM Trek back to the village
You will take approximately 1 hour to be back to the base. Walk slowly and climbing down is more stressful to knees.
Day-1/Step-7 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM Visit famous Ramalingeshwara temple complex
The famous temples of Ramalingeshwara, Lakshmaneshwara, Bharateshwara and Shatrugneshwara dates back to 10th century, Nolamba dynasty.
Day-1/Step-8 3.30 PM to 7.00 PM Drive back to Bangalore
After spending some 1 hour at the Ramalingeshwara temple complex, you can start back to Bangalore.
On the way on NH75 you will find lot of options for food and you can have some tea/snacks. There is also a food plaza before Hoskote where you will find MC Donalds and other fast food chains. This can be also a good option!

Have a great weekend !
