Day-1/Step-1 7.00 AM to 10.00 AM Travel to Shri Kotilinga and Breakfast on the way

So the distance is approximately 90Kms and may vary a bit based on where you live in Bangalore. Ideally start by 7.00 AM. You can have breakfast on the way and including your breakfast time, you will take 2 and half to hours to 3 hours to reach the temple.

Now there are 2 routes you can take:
Route1: Bangalore -> Sarjapura -> Maralur -> Kolar ->Bangarpet – Shri Kotilingeshwara
Route1 Road Coditions : Good, patchy in between. Very good after Kolar
Route2: Bangalore -> Hosakote -> Kolar ->Bangarpet – Shri Kotilingeshwara
Route2 Road Conditons: Very good, NH75 is fantastic
Food options: Many on the way till Kolar on route 2.

Day-1/Step-2 10.00 AM to 12.00 AM Visit the temples in the premises

The temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. The amazing thing about this temple is that it has one of the largest shiva linga in the world and as the name suggest, it is supposed to have 1 crore shiva lingas installed here.

When we spoke to the priest, he mentioned that there are already around 90 Lacs installed.

Remeber you need to take ticket for entering the temple premises. It was Rs20/- per person, but prices may change, please check the price before hand and carry change. We guess UPI payment is also enabled, but not sure.

The temple gets extremly crowded during festivals and hence plan accordinlgy !

Day-1/Step-3 12.00 PM to 4.00 PM Lunch and Drive back home

You will take approx 2 hours to visit the temples. You can drive back or visit other temples in the region. we have covered that in our other itinerary. However that makes the trip a bit hectic.

If you are looking for a relaxed weekend trip, you can retrun back to Bangalore.

On the way you can have lunch at one of the may options available on the way!

Have a nice trip!
